Torna Fort Trek — Prachandagad - The Giant Fort of Maharashtra
Torna Fort, also known as Prachandagad, is a large fort located in Pune district, India. It is historically significant as it was the first fort captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1646, forming the nucleus of the Maratha Empire. Being the highest fort in Pune district, it offers a challenging climb and gorgeous cloud-skipping vistas.
It is moderate to difficult. It requires good stamina and careful stepping, especially on the final rock patch.
Camping is possible inside the Mengai Temple. However, carrying own tents is recommended.
